Lyle, Sandy (1958- )

Scottish golfer who came to prominence in 1978 when he won the Rookie of the Year award. He won the British Open in 1985 and added the Masters and World Match Play titles in 1988. He was Europe's leading money winner in 1979, 1980, and 1985, and played in five consecutive Ryder Cups 1979-1987.
