Lympne

Village in Kent, England, west of Hythe; population (2001, Lympne and Stanford) 1,950. Originally a Roman port, Lemanis, it was pushed inland by the growth of Romney Marsh. Lympne has a Roman fort (Stutfall) and a 15th-century castle.

A minor airport was formerly operated at nearby Ashford; an industrial estate is now located on the site.
