Lyndhurst, Nicholas (1961– )

English actor. After first appearing on the 1970s television sitcom Butterflies, written by Carla Lane, he appeared in To Serve Them All My Days (1980), and then began his most famous role as Rodney Trotter in John Sullivan's popular sitcom Only Fools and Horses, which ran until 1996. In 1990 Lyndhurst appeared in a spy parody, The Piglet Files, and starred with Stephen Fry in Stalag Luft (1993). He returned to sitcom in Goodnight Sweetheart (1993–1999) and in 1999 was one of an all-star cast in the BBC's adaptation of Dickens's David Copperfield.
