Mödling

Suburb of the Austrian capital Vienna, in the province of Lower Austria; population (2001) 20,400. Mödling is on the southern edge of the Vienna metropolitan area. Shoes and metal goods are the main industries.

There are two ruined castles, a 15th-century church, and a 16th-century Rathaus (town hall).
