Má Vlast

Cycle of six symphonic poems by Bedřich Smetana, composed 1874–79 and containing programme works on various aspects of Czech history and geography: 1. Vyšehrad/The Citadel of Prague; 2. Vltava/The River; 3. Šarka/The Czech Amazon; 4. From Bohemia's Woods and Fields; 5. Tabor/The City; 6. Blaník/The Mountain.

Bedrich Smetana Ma vlast / My Country Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Libor Pesek.
The concert will consist of well-loved classical favourites including Rossini's William Tell Overture, Grieg's Concerto in A Minor for piano and orchestra, Opus 16, Smetana's Vltava No 2 from Ma Vlast, Barber's Adagio for Strings and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.
The programme will feature Vaughan Williams's The Lark Ascending, Smetana's symphonic poem The Maldau from Ma Vlast, Dvorak's Seventh Symphony and Beethoven's Coriolanus Overture.
