MacDonald, Thomas Harris

MacDonald, Thomas Harris (1891–1957)

US civil engineer. He developed the state highway system in Iowa 1907–19. In 1919 he became chief of the federal Bureau of Public Roads, a position he held until his retirement in 1953. MacDonald was born in Leadville, Colorado.
