MacMillan, Whitney

MacMillan, Whitney (1929– )

US corporate executive. He worked his way through the grain division and corporate ranks of the family business, Cargill, Inc, becoming president (1975–76), CEO (1976), and chairman (from 1977). Besides expanding this giant grain merchant and processor into the world's largest grain trader, he diversified the company into retail consumer markets, insurance, and commodity investment services. MacMillan was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
