Mack, Julian

Mack, Julian (William) (1866–1943)

US jurist and community leader. He earned his law degree at Harvard University, and taught law at Northwestern University (1895–1902) and at the University of Chicago (1902–11). He served as a US circuit court judge from 1913 until his death. President of the Zionist Organization of America (1918–21), he was leader of the ‘Brandeis-Mack group’, which favoured investment rather than philanthropy for Palestine. Mack was born in San Francisco, California.
