Magic Fountain, The

Opera by Delius (libretto by composer and J Bell); composed 1894–95, first performed by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), and broadcast on 20 November 1977. The conductor was Del March. Explorer Solano seeks a magic fountain with native Indian lover Watawa as a guide. Although she has sworn revenge on white men, she falls in love with him, but both die when they drink the fountain's poisonous water.
