Magistretti, Vico

    0.02 sec.

Magistretti, Vico (1920–2006)

Italian architect and furniture designer. Active in Milan from 1945, he was a member of the generation which created the post-war modern Italian design movement. He worked closely with the Arflex and Cassina companies, among others, to create many lasting furniture designs in the modern style.

Examples from the 1960s include chairs and tables in brightly coloured plastics, while his ‘Sindbad’ sofa for Cassina (1981) showed that Italy could still lead the way in elegant modern design.
