Mahwah

Township within Bergen County, northern New Jersey; population (1990) 17,900. Mahwah is situated 19 km/12 mi north of Paterson, on the Ramapo River near the New York State border.

Railway components and car parts are manufactured in Mahwah (once the site of a Ford assembly plant). There is a railway museum and a ski centre in the town, which is also home to Ramapo College (founded 1969). Darlington County Park is situated nearby.
