    0.02 sec.

Makgadikgadi Depression

Ancient lake basin in Botswana, containing the Ntwetwe and Sua salt pans. The depression forms the sump for the Okavango drainage system, to which it is linked by the Boteti River. The former maximum extent of the lake was around 60,000 sq km/23,166 sq mi (about the size of Lake Victoria), although the present pan systems only occupy part of the depression. Soda ash is produced from Sua Pan.
