Malahide

Coastal dormitory suburb 15 km/9 mi northeast of Dublin, Republic of Ireland; population (2002) 11,600. Malahide Castle, to the southwest, dates from 1174, and has been added to over the centuries; it was the home of the Talbot family for nearly 800 years until it was given over to the state in 1973. Malahide has two golf courses.
