Malcolm Mackenneth

Malcolm (II) Mackenneth (c. 954–1034)

King of Scotland from 1005. He was the son of Kenneth II, and gained the throne by defeating and killing Kenneth III. In 1016 he won a great victory over Eadulf Cudel at Carham on the Tweed, which resulted in northern Northumbria becoming part of the Scottish kingdom. He was succeeded by his grandson Duncan I.
