Maliponte, Adriana (1938- )

Italian soprano. She studied at Mulhouse and made her debut in Milan in 1958, as Mimi. She appeared at the Paris Opéra in 1962, as Micaela, making her US debut in Philadelphia the following year. From 1971 she appeared at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York, as Pamina, Juliette, Eurydice, Alice Ford, and Luisa Miller (a role she repeated at Trieste in 1990). Other roles have included Manon (La Scala, Milan 1970) and Nedda (Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, 1976).
