Mamaroneck

Town in Westchester County, southeastern New York State; population (1990) 27,700. It is located on Mamaroneck Harbor in Long Island Sound, 35 km/22 mi northeast of New York City.

Although it is primarily a residential neighbourhood, the town of Mamaroneck has some industry, manufacturing electronic components and light fixtures. It is renowned as a boating centre.
