THE shortlist for the Man Booker Prize has been announced with six books up for the prestigious pounds 50,000 prize, to be announced on October 6, writes Journal Arts Editor David Whetstone.
Also known as the "Arabic Booker," a reference to the Man Booker Prize, the prestigious literary award given to the best novel written by a citizen of the Commonwealth or the Republic of Ireland.
