Manacor

Town in southeast Majorca, one of the Spanish Balearic Islands; population (2001) 31,300. Products include shoes, handicraft souvenirs, and artificial pearls; tourism is important. At nearby Porto Cristo are the Caves of Drach (‘the dragon’) with stalactite and stalagmite formations, and one of the largest known subterranean lakes (Lake Martel).
