Mandeville

City in St Tammany Parish, southeastern Louisiana; population (1990) 7,100. Mandeville stands on the northern shore of Lake Pontchartrain, 45 km/28 mi north of New Orleans. Founded in 1830, it is a resort, with boatbuilding and agricultural industries.

This is the highly entertaining 'Voyage and Travels of Sir John Mandeville.
