Evergreen tree belonging to the cashew family, native to India but now widely cultivated for its large oval fruits in other tropical and subtropical areas, such as the West Indies. (Mangifera indica, family Anacardiaceae.)

These include Rhus radicans (also poison ivy), Rhus venenata (poison elder or swamp sumac), Mangifera (mango), Anacardium (marking nut), Comocladia (guao), and Rhus glabra (smooth sumac).
Patent 7,250,181 B2 addresses the use of Withania somnifera with Natreon's patented and highly purified Shilajit and Mangifera indica for use as an anti-viral and/or immune-supporting agent.
