Manzoni, Giacomo (1932– )

Italian composer. His music has featured in festivals at Berlin, Osaka, Prague, and Warsaw. He published a book on Schoenberg in 1975.

He studied at the Milan Conservatory and taught there 1962–69; he also taught at the Bologna Conservatory 1964–74, before returning to Milan.

Works Opera La Sentenza (1960), Atemtod (1965; given by Abbado in the 1965 Salzburg Festival), Per Massimiliano Robespierre (1975), and Doktor Faustus (after Thomas Mann, 1985).
