Manzuoli, Giovanni (c. 1720–c. 1780)

Italian castrato soprano. He made his Italian debut in Florence in 1731. Later he visited Madrid, London, and Vienna. In 1763 he sang in the first performance of Gluck's Trionfo di Clelia (Bologna) and in 1765 was in London to create the title role in Johann Christian Bach's Adriano in Siria. He retired in 1771, after creating Ascanio in Mozart's serenata Ascanio in Alba.
