Opera by Rossini (libretto by C della Valle, Duke of Ventignano), produced in Naples at the Teatro San Carlo on 3 December 1820. A French version entitled Le Siège de Corinthe, was produced in Paris on 9 October 1826. Muslim warrior Maometto falls for Anna, but she prefers Calbo, and dies in his defence.
