Maple Ridge

District municipality in Dewdney-Alouette Regional District, southwestern British Columbia; population (1991) 48,400. Maple Ridge is situated on the Fraser River, 65 km/41 mi east of Vancouver. It is a rapidly growing residential suburb in an agricultural and timber-milling area that lies just to the east of Pitt Meadows.
