Marceline

City in Linn and Chariton counties, north-central Missouri, 51 km/32 mi east-southeast of Chillicothe; population (1990) 2,600.

Marceline was formerly a freight division point on the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad. It is now a station on the Amtrak network, and a distribution point for locally produced grain, livestock, and dairy goods and coal from nearby mines. The city was the boyhood home of cartoonist and film-maker Walt Disney (1901–66).
