Marcus, (Harold) Stanley (1905-2002)

US retail executive. An inspired marketer, he transformed his father Herbert Marcus's Dallas store, Neiman-Marcus, into a national retailer known for its exclusivity, millionaire clientele, and extravagant Christmas catalogue. He was president (1950-72) and chair (1972-75). After 1977 he was a Dallas-based marketing consultant. Marcus was born in Dallas, Texas.
