Maree, Loch

Large lake in Wester Ross, Highland unitary authority, Scotland, extending over a length of 22 km/14 mi and widening to 3 km/2 mi. Its outflow is the River Ewe, which joins the sea-inlet of Loch Ewe. Studded with islands, and bordered by soaring mountain peaks, including Slioch (980 m/3,215 ft), it is considered to be one of Scotland's most beautiful lochs.
