Margenau, Henry

Margenau, Henry (1901–1992)

German physicist. He made advances in spectroscopy and studies of intramolecular and intranuclear forces, wrote extensively on the philosophy of science, and was a consultant for the Time-Life science series. Margenau was born in Bielefeld, Germany. He went to the USA as a graduate student, taught at the University of Nebraska (1926–27), then spent his career at Yale University (1929–69).
