Marina

City in Monterey County, west-central California, located on Monterey Bay, 11 km/7 mi northeast of Monterey; population (1990) 26,400. A residential and resort community, Marina has a beach that is popular with both surfers and hang-glider pilots. The US Army's Fort Old facility, which lies just south of the town, contributes to the city's economy.
