Market Drayton

Market town in Shropshire, England, 30 km/19 mi northeast of Shrewsbury, on the Shropshire Union Canal; population (2001) 10,400. It is in the centre of a farming district, and agricultural implements are made here. Market Drayton has a 16th-century grammar school. Nearby is Blore Heath, scene of a battle in the Wars of the Roses.
