Marshall Space Flight Center

NASA field centre at Huntsville, Alabama, established in 1960, where the series of Saturn rockets and the space shuttle engines were developed. It also manages missions, such as the Gravity Probe B, as well as the propulsion for the space shuttle and various payloads, including microgravity experiments. The Destiny science laboratory for the International Space Station was built by the Boeing Company using the centre's facilities.

The centre's first director was German rocket engineer Wernher von Braun.
