Martin, Dean (1917–1995)

US singer and actor. He met US comedian Jerry Lewis in 1946; they became a top comedy-singing nightclub attraction and went on to make several films together 1949–56, the first of which was My Friend Irma. After the duo broke up, Martin went on to have his own television show 1965–73. His many hit records include ‘That's Amore’ (1953), ‘Memories Are Made of This’ (1955), and ‘Everybody Loves Somebody’ (1964).
