Austrian composer. He studied in Vienna and in 1922 became director of the Academy of Music there in succession to Ferdinand Löwe. From 1947 he was professor at Graz University

Autumn Symphony (1921); Symphonic Night Music, Spring Music for orchestra; romantic concerto for piano and orchestra.

several choral pieces; three string quartets, piano quartet, fantasy for piano trio; violin and piano sonata, cello and piano sonata; c. 120 songs.
