Massé, Victor (actually Félix Marie) (1822–1884)

French composer. He studied at the Paris Conservatory, where Halévy was his composition master, and gained the Prix de Rome in 1844. He travelled in Italy and Germany after his stay in Rome; in 1860 he became chorus-master at the Paris Opéra and in 1866 professor of composition at the Conservatory.
