Masson, Diego (1935- )

French conductor. He studied at the Paris Conservatory with Leibowitz, Maderna, and Boulez, worked with Domaine Musical, and founded ensemble Musique Vivante 1966. He led early performances of works by Stockhausen, Boulez (Domaines), Globokar, and Berio and has directed opera and ballet at Marseille and Angers since 1968. He made his debut with the English National Opera in 1980 with La Damnation de Faust and conducted the first performances of Harper's Hedda Gabler (1985) and Robert Saxton's Caritas (1991).
