Mastilovič, Danica (1933- )

Yugoslav soprano, later mezzo-soprano. She sang in Belgrade 1955-59 and from 1959 at Frankfurt, where she made her debut as Tosca. At Hamburg she was heard as Turandot (1964) and during the 1970s sang in Europe and North America, as Abigaille, Kundry, Brünnhilde, and the Dyer's Wife. She made her debuts at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London (1973) and at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York (1975) as Elektra. Other roles include Ortrud (Zurich, 1973) and Clytemnestra (Salzburg Landestheater, 1987).
