Matsqui

Municipality within the Central Fraser Valley Regional District, southwestern British Columbia; population (1991) 68,600. Matsqui, which lies 64 km/40 mi east-southeast of Vancouver, occupies the area that extends south from the Fraser River to the Washington State border.

Matsqui is at the centre of an alluvial agricultural area noted especially for its raspberries. It also has various light industries and is a rapidly growing residential suburb. The settlement of Abbotsford lies immediately to the east.
