Matthew, Robert Hogg (1906–1975)

Scottish architect, born in Edinburgh. From 1946 to 1953 he was architect to the London County Council and during this period he designed, jointly with John Leslie Martin, the Royal Festival Hall (1951).

His buildings in London since 1957, when he went into private practice with Johnson-Marshall, include New Zealand House (1958–63), and the Commonwealth Institute (1959–62), the latter with a hyperbolic paraboloid roof.
