Mavra

Opera in one act by Stravinsky (libretto in Russian, by B Koshno, based on Pushkin's The Little House at Kolomna), produced in French translation by J Larmanjat at the Paris Opéra on 3 June 1922. ‘Mavra’ is Parasha's lover Vasilly, a hussar disguised as a cook in her mother's house. However, Mavra is discovered shaving, and her true identity is revealed.
