maxwell

C.g.s. unit of magnetic flux (the strength of a magnetic field in an area multiplied by the area). It is now replaced by the SI unit, the weber (one maxwell equals 10−8 weber).

The maxwell is a very small unit. It is equal to the flux through one square centimetre normal to a magnetic field with an intensity of one gauss.
