Mayone, Ascanio (c. 1565-1627)

Italian composer. He studied with Jean de Macque in Naples, was appointed organist at the Annunziata, Naples, in 1593 and maestro di cappella there from 1621.

Instrumental

solo and chamber instrumental music. His two volumes of keyboard music, Capricci per sonar (1603, 1609) contain canzonas and toccatas in an advanced idiom.
