Mazurov, Kiril Trofimovich (1914–1989)

Russian politician. He spent most of his career as a Communist Party official in Belarus, and was a member of the Russian Politburo from 1966–79. He served as a first deputy premier from 1965–78.

He was of peasant origin, and distinguished himself in World War II as a guerrilla leader in Belarus. He was in the Communist Party apparatus in Minsk (1947–48), and became Party secretary there (1950–53).
