McCulloch, John Ramsay (1789–1864)

Scottish journalist, academic, civil servant, and economist. His Principles of Political Economy (1825), was the most successful general textbook of the day in its subject.

His correspondence with David Ricardo concerning economics is an important source for the study of methods of theoretical reasoning at the time.
