McFadden, Clàron (1961– )

US soprano. She studied at the Eastman School and made her opera debut in 1985, in Hasse's L'eroe cinese, under Ton Koopman. She has sung with William Christie and Les Arts Florissants in Rameau's Anacréon and Les Indes Galantes; in Purcell's Fairy Queen (London, 1992); and in Acis and Galatea with the King's Consort. She appeared at the Netherlands Opera in 1989, as Zerbinetta, and in Salzburg in 1991 in Mozart's Impresario. Other roles include Philidel in Purcell's King Arthur (Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, 1995). She also sings modern repertory with the Schoenberg Ensemble.
