McGann, Paul (1960– )

English film and television actor. He trained at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) and in 1987 appeared in the cult film Withnail and I with Richard E Grant. In 1996 McGann got the lead role in Dr Who as the time-travelling doctor. He appeared in The Hanging Gale, a film for British television, along with his three brothers, Stephen, Mark, and Joe, who are also actors. In 1998, Paul McGann returned to the stage, playing psychiatrist Carl Jung in Sabina, a play by Snoo Wilson, at the Bush Theatre, London, England.
