McGrath, Paul

    0.06 sec.

McGrath, Paul (1953– )

English-born Irish footballer who joined Manchester United from the League of Ireland side St Patrick's Athletic in 1985. He went on to win over 200 appearances for the club before moving to Aston Villa in 1989. Generally acknowledged as a world-class player, he spent most of his career in central defence but showed his versatility when playing a vital role in midfield for the Republic of Ireland in the World Cup finals in 1990. A troublesome knee meant that McGrath was often unable to train with his team mates, but he still made 83 appearances for his country.
