Meiselas, Susan (1948– )

US documentary photographer. She concentrates on human rights issues and has covered conflicts in Nicaragua and El Salvador. Her brilliant Cibachrome prints seem antiheroic in their intention. She has published books of her comprehensive photographic studies, for example Carnival Strippers (1976) and Kurdistan: In the Shadow of History (1997).
