Melville

Village in Huntington town, Suffolk County, southeastern New York State; population (1990) 12,600. Melville stands on Long Island, just south of South Huntington on the Long Island Expressway.

Melville has experienced considerable commercial development in recent years, with financial and electronics firms and other corporate offices taking advantage of its central position on the Island.
