Mendenhall, Dorothy (1874–1964)

US physician. A dedicated researcher and physician, she is best known for her early research on Hodgkin's disease and contributions to maternal and child health care while a medical officer at the US Children's Bureau (1917–36). Her numerous articles greatly influenced the diet of pregnant women and children. Mendenhall was born Dorothy Reed in Columbus, Ohio.
