Mequon

City in Ozaukee County, southeastern Wisconsin; population (1990) 18,900. Mequon lies on Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee River, 16 km/10 mi north of Milwaukee, of which it is a residential suburb. Founded in 1846, it has a diversity of light industries. It is the site of Concordia University (founded 1881).
